Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, Paul Rousso is a visionary American artist and graduate of the California College of the Arts, whose innovative work is exhibited worldwide. He is a perfectionist who embraces new technology as soon as it appears on the horizon, relentlessly evolving his artistic technique.
His life's work, "Flat Depth," is the logical progression of modern
art, combining countless artistic methods to render flat objects
three-dimensional or collapse three-dimensional objects into two
dimensions. Rousso, a visual artist with a background in both pop-art and Inspired by the paradoxes of the world around him and the evolution of art throughout history, Rousso's work reflects a
deliberate attempt to be relatable to all viewers, while also showcasing his classical training through the use of time honored
artistic conventions. An emblematic theme in his compositions is
his fascination with paper, including currency, advertising, news-
papers, and magazines, and their historical significance.
Despite the complexity of his artistic output, Rousso's work resonates with all citizens of the world and jumps off the wall to
connect directly with the viewer's experience. Classical culture, is dedicated to expressing his commentary on the human condition through the evolution of his artistic style. His creative processes are both linear and complex, with multiple pieces being developed simultaneously and with painstaking attention to
detail.
Having worked as a Hollywood scenic artist and an art director
for Revlon at Grey Advertising, as well as designing Robert De
Niro's Tribeca loft, Rousso's vast worldview infuses his work with
a wry touch of social commentary. His pieces are held in
private collections around the world, and many of his public
projects are featured in the United States.
